Gary Garrison

Gary Garrison brings 38 years of broadcast journalism, public relations and military intelligence expertise to the 770 KKOB News Department, providing unique insight, perspective and on-air professionalism.

Gary formerly served as Capital Bureau Chief for the Texas State News Network, broadcasting custom reports daily for KRLD, Dallas, KPRC, Houston, WOAI, San Antonio, and KLBJ, Austin. In addition, Gary has reported from the White House, the floor of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, and has covered the campaigns of former Presidents Richard Nixon, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. He has also worked as a special correspondent for the Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

For seven years, Gary was employed as Media Information Manager and Deputy Spokesperson for the Texas Railroad Commission, the agency which regulates the Texas oil and gas industry.

Gary is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as a Chinese-Mandarin and Russian intelligence specialist, and Senior Ground Controller for U-2 Reconnaissance missions.
